Is your young athlete or active child struggling with an injury? Our consultant youth physiotherapy service can help you. Led by Dan Elias, he understands that growing bodies need a unique approach to healing and performance.

So what’s involved?

  • A comprehensive assessment with calculation of skeletal maturation to calculate where each child is within growth, which aid with bespoke treatment, diagnosis and rehabilitation

  • Fun and engaging rehabilitation plans that are age appropriate to the child

  • Emphasis on education over impact of rapid growth and the importance of sleep for recovery from exercise and to mitigate growing related injuries

  • Goal: return your child to their sport or chosen activity with a better understanding of how to manage participation in sport and reduce lost game time from injury

Strength & Conditioning

In 2024, we expanded our services to include Youth Strength & Conditioning with our practitioner Emma Hamilton alongside our physiotherapy care. Recognising that recovery, resilience, and performance go hand-in-hand, this program is designed to:

•    Support safe and effective physical development for children and adolescents, tailored to the stages of skeletal maturation and experience of strength training.

•    Improve strength, coordination, and athletic performance while reducing injury risk

•    Complement physiotherapy treatments, enhancing rehabilitation and long-term movement confidence

•    Encourage healthy habits and active lifestyles from a young age

Our evidence-based, age-appropriate approach ensures that every young person can build strength, move confidently, and thrive — whether recovering from injury or looking to maximise their athletic potential.

Our Strength and Conditioning programme offers bespoke programmes for gym work as well as returning a child back to their chosen activity or sport, post injury. As part of our delivery, we measure and observe a range of physical competencies in order to develop the movement vocabulary of each child. When designing programmes, the maturational age of the child as well as previous training exposure to strength work will be factored into the type of training that is offered.

Multidisciplinary Care

At The Youth Physiotherapy Clinic, we work collaboratively with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care tailored to each child’s unique needs. Our wider team includes specialist paediatric orthopaedic consultants, sports doctors, nutritionists, and sports psychologists.

Together, we aim to optimise a child’s growth, development, and performance—whether in everyday life or athletic pursuits—through evidence-based, child-centred care.

“It is great to work collaboratively with Dan in his role as a specialist youth physiotherapist. We have together successfully managed many patients with knee problems from simple overuse injuries to complex surgical problems. I really value the excellent communication between Dan, the patient, myself and family, making my job as a surgeon so much easier. In short I'd have no hesitation in recommending Dan as an excellent specialist youth physiotherapist.”
